Blush is one of my favorite makeup products because it adds such a healthy, youthful glow to any look. However, it can be easy to go overboard, and too much blush can start to look a bit… scary. That’s why I love the NARS Blush in the shade Behave.
Firstly, I love NARS; it’s a luxe brand with high-end quality products. The blush specifically comes in super chic packaging with a large mirror inside, which is a win-win because you don’t have to pack a compact when you travel.
Behave is a soft matte pinky-mauve shade that works perfectly with pretty much any complexion. In the pan, it does look fairly light, but it creates this gorgeous natural flush of color without looking frosted or chalky. It’s also ideal for spring and summer because I tend to be heavy-handed on blushes, and with this, you can’t be heavy-handed; It’s impossible.
What I like to do with blushes for the warmer months—mainly because I try to go for more soft and natural looks than in the colder seasons—is start with an angled brush.
With the shorter base of the angle, I tap the brush into the blush and focus most of the product on top of whatever my contour is and near the external parts of my face. Then I use the top part of the brush that didn’t have any product to buff it out toward the center. Applying the blush like this helps keep keeping your face contoured and chiseled, without making your cheeks look too large or creating a clown-like blush effect.
After my cheeks, I also like to apply some blush on my nose, chin, and center of my forehead, just to get a more natural, youthful look.
And that’s exactly what you get with this blush, and especially with the Behave shade specifically. It’s so magical at creating that glowing-from-within, soft, flush, youthful, stunning type of look that’s perfect for the season.
