This Otherworldly Perfume is my New Favorite Fragrance

Reviewing Thierry Mugler’s Alien Eau de Parfum

I have been on a scent-chasing journey for the past few months as I’ve tried popular modern and classic fragrances I’ve always seen and heard about but never got to try.

From feminine fragrances like Philosophy’s Amazing Grace Eau de Toilette and Yves Saint Laurent’s Black Opium Eau de Parfum, to florals like the Marc Jacobs Daisy Eau So Fresh Eau de Toilette and Viktor & Rolf’s Flowerbomb Eau de Parfum, to even some new scent-staples like the Versace Bright Crystal Absolu Eau de Parfum, there are so many incredible perfumes out there to try that it’s hard to know what to buy.

While I do have an everyday scent, I recently had another perfume recommended to me over and over that I’m going to recommend right back to everyone else. It’s replaced my go-to scent, and I cannot be without Thierry Mugler’s Alien Eau de Parfum.

This fragrance consists of three main components: Jasmine Sambas, Cashmeran Wood, and White Amber.

A white floral, amber, and woody fragrance, creates an aura around the wearer that oozes with femineity and glowing sensuality. You get the modern, rich, and mellow musky amber base with a hazy and warm woodsy heart that’s intoxicatingly delicious; it makes you want to take a deep breath of it in. And it’s topped with that bright and delicate yet powerful and sunny jasmine on top that can’t be ignored.

Once it dries, this perfume is still woody, but it also takes on a somewhat vanilla-like scent without being overly sweet. The jasmine, amber, wood, and musk all remain in a harmonious veil of a scent.

Beyond the scent itself, I also love the bottle it comes in. With its gorgeous amethyst color, gem-like cut, and gold accents, it’s a piece that draws the eye and demands to be seen; it won’t do to be kept away in a drawer.

Mugler also commits responsible luxury, and the bottle is refillable both at the “Mugler Fountain,” or with a refill bottle. Sustainability is so important nowadays, and I love seeing companies that put in the effort to make it a part of their brand.

Mugler’s Alien Eau de Parfum is a completely unique scent that I absolutely adore. I cannot recommend it enough, and I would give it an easy 10/10 in my book.
