Awards season is in full swing and music’s biggest night, the 65th Annual Grammy Awards, was recently held at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
A-list music artists rocked the latest styles, fashion, and beauty trends as they walked the Grammy red carpet. The Grammys tend to have a less formal vibe than some other awards ceremonies, like the Oscars or Emmys, allowing the stars to take bigger and bolder risks with their fashion, hair, and makeup choices.
This year’s Grammy red carpet beauty looks did not disappoint. Celebs were seen sporting everything from intricate woven updos and wet textured hair to voluminous waves and the Gemini hair color trend. And the makeup didn’t take a back seat to the hair with trends ranging from bold lips, pops of electric color, and bleached brows to glam neutrals and dramatic lashes.
Here are some of the stand-out beauty looks from the 65th Annual Grammy Awards.
Doja Cat
My favorite beauty look of the night was Doja Cat. The rapper looked chic in a punk-inspired, jet-black choppy pixie (which was actually a wig) styled by Jared Henderson using GHD hair tools.
Her makeup was equally dramatic by taking the bleached brow trend a step further and shaving them. The extended graphic cat-eye liner, bold frosted brown lip, and metallic shadow highlight on the inner eye corners were applied by Ernesto Casillas using Charlotte Tilbury makeup. Winged-out false lashes by KISS provided the finishing touch to this glam look.
Kelsea Ballerini
Makeup artist Kelsey Deenihan created this monochromatic, warm copper makeup look on Kelsea Ballerini using only the drugstore brand CoverGirl to complement her yellow gown. This look included the Clean Fresh Skin Milk Foundation, the TruBlend So Flushed High Pigment Bronzer, and the Exhibitionist Cream Lipstick. Her hair was slicked back into a simple bun to complement the soft glam makeup.
GAYLE
Singer and nominee GAYLE wore the current two-toned Gemini hair trend featuring a center part with complementing hues of copper and black on either side. She paired her long, shaggy tresses with smoky eyes and nude lips.
Lizzo
Never looking better, Lizzo was summoning an early spring in her tangerine custom Dolce & Gabbana corseted gown. Nail artist Eri Ishizu kept that theme going by creating orange stiletto floral nails that matched the silk roses on her embellished cape using O.P.I. Nail Lacquer.
Hairstylist Shelby Swain created the singer’s soft, glossy, wet-look curls with a single statement curl in the center of Lizzo’s forehead using products by Sebastian. All makeup was Charlotte Tilbury applied by Alexx Mayo.
Taylor Swift
Ten-time Grammy winner Taylor Swift opted to pair her signature red lips with midnight blue cat eyes that perfectly matched her crystal-encrusted Roberto Cavalli crop top/skirt combo. She wore her hair in an effortless, loose top knot with face-framing bangs.
Maren Morris
Country artist Maren Morris sported the bleached brows trend but kept the rest of her beauty look minimal with charcoal-lined eyes, nude lips, and center-parted, slicked-back, wet-textured hair. Makeup artist Kristine Studden kept the makeup fresh and luminous using Charlotte Tilbury products, including the Rock ‘N’ Kohl Eyeliner Pencil to define the star’s eyes.
Cardi B
Another one of my favorite beauty looks of the night goes to Grammy winner Cardi B, even with her structural couture gown covering half her face.
Makeup artist Erika La’Pearl used cobalt eyeliner that matched the rapper’s ensemble to perfection. She paired it with a flawless, luminous complexion and brown-lined nude lips. All makeup was Pat McGrath Labs. Her hair was kept simple in a sleek, glossy, elegant low ponytail.
Bebe Rexha
Grammy nominee Bebe Rexha embraced the Barbiecore movement by wearing bubblegum pink blush to go with her daring cutout gown and matching opera gloves. She paired it with a simple black cat eye and glossy lips.
But the standout of Rexha’s look was the ‘70s Farrah Fawcett-inspired winged blowout. The retro blonde-bombshell hairstyle was created by Cesar Deleon Ramirez using a wig and products from Unite, including the Blow & Set Sculpting Lotion, Le:Play Hairspray, and Texturiza Dry Finishing Spray.
H.E.R.
Four-time Grammy winner H.E.R. rocked gorgeous, center-parted, voluminous, wavy curls paired with thick, black eyeliner under her trademark sunglasses, a flawless dewy complexion, and matte berry lips.
Kim Petras
German pop singer Kim Petras made history as the first openly transgender woman to win a Grammy. Her porcelain skin, sharp brows, and matte red lips were created by Gilbert Soliz using products from MAC Cosmetics, including the brand’s Studio Fix Fluid, Powder Blush, and Lip Pencil.
Petras’ sleek poker-straight, side-swept platinum hair was styled by Mel Dominguez using extensions and OGX products, including the Blonde Enhance Purple Fig & Iris Toning Drops, Renewing Argan Oil of Morocco Penetrating Oil, and Renewing Argan Oil of Morocco Weightless Healing Dry Oil.
Beyonce
Special congratulations to Beyonce, who made history by breaking the record for most Grammy wins by a recording artist. She looked gorgeous in bronzed skin and makeup paired with honey blonde, loose, wet-look waves as she accepted her 32nd record-breaking Grammy.
