The Simple Solution for Soft, Smooth Second Day Hair

Testing out IGK’s Antisocial – Overnight Bond-Building Dry Hair Mask

Everyone knows that second-day hair is easier to set and style than freshly-washed locks, but having soft, silky, flowing hair that feels as good as it looks every day is my ultimate goal. Washing every day isn’t good for the hair, and dry shampoos leave behind residue that can dry out the strands.

That’s why I went searching for something that paired the two: A spray that’s convenient and easy to use while controlling frizz and adding shine, all without weighing down a look. Then I tried IGK’s Antisocial – Overnight Bond-Building Dry Hair Mask, and I think I found The One.

The Product

Firstly, this mask is easy to use. After spraying it through dry hair, you just brush it out and go to bed. In the morning, you comb it again and that’s it. You don’t need to wash or re-style to achieve a good hair day.

It uses vegan silk proteins that soften and smooth the strands while IGK’s Bond Build Technology strengthens the locks and helps repair the fibers. It bonds to the natural proteins in the cuticle so that it’s healthy and strong inside and out.

This leave-in formula also conditions the tresses with amino acids to smooth out the strands and add shine. Altogether, it hydrates the hair and prevents frizz without weighing it down or leaving behind any sticky, flakey, or noticeable residue.

Not only is this formula great for colored and chemically treated hair, but it also protects against damage caused by UV rays, blow-drying, and brushing. It’s also vegan, cruelty-free, and made without gluten, petrolatum, or mineral oil, making it a formula you can feel good about using while still getting show-stopping results.

The Test

The first time I tried this dry hair mask, I had showered the day before. I’m in the process of growing out my color-treated hair, and it takes a lot to keep it not only looking and feeling good but maintaining its health as well.

I typically wash my hair twice a week. Over-washing it makes it so dry and prone to breaking but I hate the way dirty hair feels. That’s why I wanted something that’ll refresh my look and stretch my style for another couple of days without drying everything out.

I still followed my normal haircare routine, but I sprayed this light mist through my locks and brushed it out before bed. In the morning, I ran my fingers through, and it looked perfect.

This treatment added moisture to my hair, which is just what it needs. I woke up without any bed head, and I noticed a lot less frizz than I would normally have by morning.

I also shared this spray with my friend, and we both noticed positive effects in our thick and coarse and thinner, finer strands.

This product says you don’t need to style your hair after using it, and I agree. It’s an overnight, time-released treatment, so if you use it before curling your locks (for example), the curls won’t hold. However, I did find that if you use it before going to bed and you wait a little while longer than eight hours before trying to style (especially with the help of a little hairspray), it holds just fine.

My frizz is also completely tamed with this spray, even when it’s humid out. I haven’t used this spray in any extreme humidity yet, but so far I haven’t had any problems with a halo of flyaways or a ‘fro of frizz.

The Conclusion

I’ve got to say, this spray blew me away. I was expecting either something like a dry shampoo (lots of residue and a formula that dries out) or a hairspray (sticky and firm). I was delighted that this was something completely different!

Now that I’ve tried this product a couple of times, it’s an official staple in my collection.

I love how it makes my hair feel, and I also adore the smell. My friend says the scent is a little strong for her, but we’ve both received a lot of compliments on the fragrance. It mellows out over time, so after a night of wear, you should be good to go.

However, this product can’t be the only hair treatment you use. This spray is more of a short-term, wash-to-wash fix. If you have dry and damaged hair, you need to use long-term, leave-in, and deep-penetrating treatments to see long-term effects.

I’m absolutely going to keep using this overnight mask, however, to keep my hair looking, smelling, and feeling fresher longer. It works well on its own, but even better with other treatments as it seals everything in.

This spray won’t completely heal dry, damaged, brittle locks, but it will make them feel better in the short term and prevent them from becoming damaged further. If you try it and you’re having doubts, use this spray the night before you wash your hair before giving up; trust me, this spray is perfect for all hair types, but especially anyone dealing with dryness and damage.
