Stop Overlining and Get Naturally Full Lips

One Product for Rosy Cheeks and Luscious Lips

Tinted makeup is always something I’ve found interesting, but hasn’t worked for me in the past. Most face tints don’t show up well on tan or darker skin tones like mine, but when I tried the Benefit Cosmetics Benetint Lip & Cheek Stain, I was blown away.

When I decided to try out this tint, I didn’t have high hopes, but I’m so glad I tried it anyway.

First, this tint actually shows up on my cheeks, even with foundation and contour. I dabbed a touch onto the apples of my cheeks and blended it out with my beauty blender and it created this soft, natural flush that just looks healthy and glowing.

I also love that there are multiple lip and cheek stain color options from Benefit, in case the color I’m wearing doesn’t work for your skin tone.

As well as a blush, though, this tint also works on my lips. Because it’s a lip tint instead of a stick or a gloss, it stains the skin to create that natural pinky-red pigmented look without drying out the skin or getting everywhere.

What’s even better is the hack I discovered you can pull off using this lip stain.

The ‘90s are officially back in full swing and overlined lips are back in fashion. It makes sense since it creates the illusion of fuller lips without having to pay for filler. However, a lot of the time you can tell that someone is using a lip liner and where they overlined because there’s no real blendability you can pull off: your lips are still their same shape, and if you have naturally darker lips—again, like mine—it becomes even more obvious.

That’s where lip tints come in.

All you need to do is overline your lips like you would with a liner, but with this tint instead. Because it’s a stain, you will need to layer on the color—I used three coats—and let it sit and dry down. This makes your lips look naturally fuller without harsh lines and no smearing, smudging, or feathering.

This hack alone is reason enough to try out this tint, let alone how natural it looks on the lips and cheeks. Plus, it makes makeup super quick and easy, and you’ll need fewer touch-ups. Even when you do want to refresh the color, it’s one less product you need to bring with you.

I never thought I would try a tint like this, but I’m so happy that I did.
