About The Brand
A Los Angeles, CA-based wellness brand, Hannah Minardi, Austin Wiberg, and Adarsh Reddy launched Standard Self Care in 2022. With a belief that wellness starts from the inside out, this female and Asian-founded brand was created for health-conscious humans.
Minardi points to Eastern medicine, where each part of the body has an emotional tie, and the skin is tied to a sense of personal security. However, our skin is often overlooked without taking the self-care time needed to address root issues.
“Standard Self-Care was born from the premise that you need to take care of yourself to focus on caring for those around you,” Wilberg says. “Our remedies are formulated and produced to help you keep your personal care routines simple and effective so that you can help others do the same!”
Minardi designed the blue-hued packaging system of Standard Self-Care’s first line of products, the Bioactive Hydration Collection. With monochromatic frosted glass and minimalistic typography for a sophisticated aesthetic that’s simple yet lively.
“After I had personally dealt with chronic fatigue and autoimmune conditions, all while seemingly living a very healthy lifestyle, I learned how important it is to have a more holistic view of health. At the same time, I watched many close friends and family members have similar seasons of burnout. I knew it was time for a larger conversation,” Minardi says. “Prioritizing wellness isn’t just about eating a rather outwardly ‘perfect’ diet and exercising often; it’s also about the daily practices that you incorporate.”
Noting that today’s marketing labels and terms like “natural” and “clean beauty” can be deceptive, Standard Self Care’s daily ritual of skincare features an extensive “no” list to display a commitment to transparent holistic well-being and results-driven products to health-conscious consumers.
“We were inspired by the people around us, living at the highest standards, and wanted to create products that elevate them on their way,” Minardi says. That is why she, and the Standard Self Care team, are excited to continue to develop products at a higher Standard in the beauty and self-care space.
It’s also why the brand is dedicated to creating skincare with ingredients and practices consumers can feel confident in using. Standard Self-Care’s philosophy is to create clean and cosmeceutical skincare with the healing alchemy of nature that creates lasting hydration, targets signs of aging, and decreases inflammation.

Clean, Tested Beauty
Without a universally-accepted definition for “natural” and “clean” beauty—as well as a lack of science to back the claims or real evidence to suggest that these products provide adequate results— Standard Self Care’s rituals are based on transparency to empower consumers. All the brand’s products are non-toxic, non-GMO, vegan, and cruelty-free. They’re also created without silicones, fillers, synthetic chemicals, or artificial fragrances and colors.
These skincare solutions are also cosmeceutical, which means they contain biologically active compounds at concentrations that will have a clinical effect. The actives penetrate deep within the layers of the skin to produce noticeable results in its appearance and health.
Standard Self Care also has its products tested and are compliant with Prop 65 for California. Using a well-acclaimed 3rd party ISO accredited testing facility for heavy metals, molds, and bacteria, the line is free from mercury, phthalates, formaldehyde, cadmium, arsenic, lead, and molds.
The Products
Standard Self Care’s Bioactive Hydration Collection consists of three products: the Hydrating Omega+ Cleansing Balm, Hyaluronic Daily Moisturizer, and Omega + Cell Regenerating Eye Cream. They feature hydrating and anti-aging ingredients for holistic skin healing. Some ingredients include Citrullus Lanatus (Watermelon) Seed Oil, Darutoside, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Magnesium, and Moringa Pterygosperma Seed Oil.
Watermelon Seed Oil contains several fatty acids which, in combination, hydrate, replenish, and soothe skin. Watermelon seeds are also excellent sources of polyphenolic and flavonoid antioxidants plus vitamin C, vitamin E, and B vitamins thiamine and riboflavin.
Darutoside is the principal active ingredient of a small shrub native to India with has been used in traditional medicine to treat skin disorders and heal wounds. Licorice Root Extract has long been prized in Japan due to its medicinal properties and health benefits, but more recently is used as an emulsifier.
Magnesium enhances hydration and replenishes moisture so that skin looks recharged, fresh, and glowy. It also promotes the synthesis of essential molecules and is necessary for the enzymes that regulate DNA replication and repair to defend against harmful free radical damage and inflammation.
Moringa Pterygosperma Seed Oil is a non-fragrant plant oil that contains several antioxidants, including zeatin, quercetin, and vitamins A, C, and E, as well as the monounsaturated fatty acid oleic acid, which replenishes skin and help guard against moisture loss.
Each formula features its own set of plant-powder ingredients, all to help create a soft, smoother, more youthful complexion that feels as good as it looks.
Hydrating Omega+ Cleansing Balm
The start of your daily skincare routine, this balm dissolves makeup and impurities while infusing the skin with hydration. Packed with revitalizing, bioactive ingredients and omegas 3, 6, and 9, this cleanser created a silky and radiant complexion.
The Hydrating Omega+ Cleansing Balm uses Hippophae Rhamnoides, or Sea Buckthorn, Oil to reverse the effects of aging and UV exposure. It’s a superfruit with 10X the vitamin C as oranges, and it’s rich in essential vitamins, potent plant compounds, omegas, and antioxidants.
It also uses organic Moringa Oleifera Seed Oil, a healing source of antioxidants that promotes cellular growth through powerful antibacterial and anti-aging properties, and Mangifera Indica (Mango) Seed Oil, which is a brightening antioxidant and anti-inflammatory agent that evens skin tone to increase natural glow.
Finally, another stand-out ingredient is Curcuma Longa (Turmeric) Root Extract, which visibly brightens and evens skin tone, reduces the look of pigmentation, calms redness, and diminishes the visible signs of aging while protecting against environmental stressors. It is also rich in antioxidants and calming compounds.

To use this cleansing balm day or night, remove a dime-sized amount with the included spatula and warm it between your hands. Massage it onto dry skin with gentle upward and outward circular motions, then wash it off with lukewarm water.
You can also double-cleanse after using this balm with a water-based face wash. Also, it is best to follow this balm with a moisturizer. Some skin types might be prone to clogging by using a cleanser balm as a moisturizer.
Hyaluronic Daily Moisturizer
Possibly the most well-known and loved Standard Self Care product, the Hyaluronic Daily Moisturizer leaves the skin hydrated, lifted, and radiant. It’s powerful enough to generate effective results yet gentle enough to use daily. It can be used before bed but is also lightweight and perfect to use under makeup/SPF without feeling greasy or heavy.
The top two ingredients in this nutrient-rich moisturizer are hyaluronic acid and Kakadu plum.
Hyaluronic Acid provides long-lasting and radiant hydration by binding water to collagen, so that skin can appear plumper, dewier, and more hydrated while minimizing the visibility of fine lines and wrinkles, and it increases the production of new skin cells.
A collagen-enhancing superfruit, Kakadu plum contains the most bio-available concentration of vitamin C to protect against free radicals leaving skin looking smooth and luminous, and it delivers hyaluronic acid throughout the skin for a youthful complexion.
This moisturizer also contains Sea Buckthorn Oil like the cleanser, and a powerful bioactive complex that increases microbiome diversity, improves cell turnover, and creates barrier protection against harmful environmental pollutants and blue light. This multi-functional combination is made from renewable sugarcane sources that respect biodiversity and have a low environmental footprint.

For this daily moisturizer, use one or two pumps after cleansing in the morning and at night. Apply it in a thick layer to the face and neck after any serums, but before SPF or eye creams.
Omega + Cell Regenerating Eye Cream
The final step of Standard Self Care’s luxuriously hydrating routine, the Omega + Cell Regenerating Eye Cream enhances collagen production, dramatically increases radiance, and reduces fine lines and wrinkles. This bioactive eye treatment has actives that work deep beneath the surface of the skin and combines botanical plant powers like Sea Buckthorn Oil, Bilberry, Maple Sugar, and Albizia Jilibrissin Bark with Hyaluronic Acid.
While the benefits of this eye cream’s use of hyaluronic acid, sea buckthorn oil, and the bioactive complex are discussed above, the botanicals include essential vitamins for plump, youthful skin that restore its elasticity and target fine lines and wrinkles.
Acer Saccharum, or Sugar Maple, Extract works as a naturally derived alpha hydroxy acid that removes bacteria and dead skin buildup while repairing damage caused by free radicals and preventing new blemishes and wrinkles from forming. Albizia Jilibrissin Bark Extract is an active ingredient that acts as an energy booster, improves cell respiration, and counteracts the formation of wrinkles. Obtained from the bark of the silk tree, this extract improves the natural skin protection barrier and promotes collagen and elastin production, thus reducing signs of skin fatigue.
Myrtillus, or Bilberry, Fruit Extract is one of the best sources of antioxidant compounds and is known to strengthen skin against signs of redness. In the morning and evening, apply a pea-sized amount of this eye cream and gently tap it in with your fingertips. More cream can also be used for a more intense treatment.
