Whether you are creating a soft and natural makeup look or going for something more glamorous and bold, bronzing can accentuate your features, sculpt your face, and give you a healthy, gorgeous glow. A good bronzer will make you look like you’ve spent time in the sun without having to expose yourself to damaging and aging UV rays or masking your skin.
My all-time favorite sculpting bronzer product is the Benefit Cosmetics Hoola Matte Bronzer, and it is a perfect matte with no shimmer to it, making it the perfect bronzer for fall.
Contouring Vs. Bronzing
While contouring does sculpt the face, contouring uses darker shades to create shadows. On the other hand, bronzer adds a glowing warmth to the skin, as if you’ve just returned from a seaside vacation.
Applying the Product
Because contour acts as an extra shadow, it’s applied to concave areas of the face, such as below the jaw, on either side of the nose, and under the brows and cheekbones. Bronzer goes on the high points of the face where the sun hits, like along the cheekbones, corners of the forehead, or even the tip of the nose.
I like to use a fluffy angled brush with my Hoola Bronzer. I take a little bit of the powder and apply it to my cheekbones, on my temples, and along my hairline, as well as along and below my chin to sculpt my jawline. Then you have a super sculpted, bronzed look in a matter of seconds.
