Bright, bold lips can pull an entire outfit together, but sometimes those intense lipsticks don’t last, and the long-lasting liquid formulas dry out the lips. When that happens, you can always go for a lip balm or gloss instead, but they don’t always offer the “oomph” a look requires.
That’s why Buxom’s Power-full Plump Lip Balm (in the shade The Big O) is one of my favorite go-to lip products.
This balm does it all. Primarily, it’s a lip balm, so it does everything a lip balm should: It hydrates the lips while softening and comforting the skin, making them feel healthy and amazing. It’s not a gloss, so this balm isn’t sticky or shiny, but it’s also not a matte product, so the lips look and feel natural.
As well as moisturizing the lips, this balm also plumps them. The peppermint flavor adds a refreshing twist to this formula, but it’s doesn’t tingle or sting the skin. It adds visible volume to the lips, making them look fuller as it fills out any lines or creases to create a soft, pillowy pout.
But the best part about this balm? It adjusts to your body’s natural pH to give your lips a flush of pink that matches your complexion. You can intensify the hue by layering this balm, and over a minute or two, it develops to complement your skin tone with a stunning tint.
If pink shades aren’t your jam, this balm also comes in Dolly Fever and Inner Glow, which are deeper mauve and natural nude hues (respectively).
You can even use this lip balm on your cheeks for a flush of color and a beautifully harmonious look.
I’ve been using this balm for years and can’t get enough of it. The color is perfect, the plumping power is noticeable but natural, and the hydration is so soothing, all without being heavy, sticky, or irritating. It creates a gorgeous glow that works well with any makeup look, any time of day, and any season. I cannot recommend it enough!
