With all the different perfumes, colognes, EDPs, EDTs, and fragrance brands out there, and with how expensive some of these scents can be, it’s difficult to know which ones are worth spending the time or money. Recently, I got to try two perfumes you’ve probably heard about, seen, or smelled before from two different popular fragrance brands.
CHLOE Nomade EDP
The first fragrance I wanted to try to see if it’s worth adding to my own collection is the citrus, floral, and woody Chloe Nomade Eau de Parfum.
It comes in a gorgeous glass horseshoe-shaped bottle that mimics the classic Chloe handbags with the brand name Chloe on the front and the fragrance name Nomade on the back. It has a blush pink fringe and a nice golden cap as well.
This is a bold, sexy, sophisticated scent. I like to wear it more at nighttime for occasions like weddings or dinner dates, but I still enjoy wearing it for any daytime events that are a little bit more than just “casual.”
This perfume falls into the earthy/woody, fruity/citrus, warm, and floral scent categories.

Right from the start you get more of those citrusy notes with the Mirabelle, bergamot, lemon, and orange. Once the fragrance develops, you’re going to notice more of those florals, so you’re going to get the freesia, jasmine, and rose with hints of peach in the heart. Once it fully dries down, you’re going to have more of that woody base with musk, amberwood, sandalwood, oakmoss, and patchouli.
Nomade also has excellent projection, sillage, and longevity. This is a scent that is going to last all night long; I’m talking sometimes 15 hours or more. And if you spray your clothes, your clothes will smell like it not just the next day, but for days after.
You also don’t need to spray a bunch of times for this smell to last, or for the projection to reach people. It is not overbearing, but if you spray it too many times, it could be. One to two sprays go a long way, and the bottle will last longer, too.
Like the wake of a boat, sillage is the French word for the scent that lingers in the air when someone leaves the room. Nomade’s sillage is strong but not overbearing, so again, you want to be mindful of how many times you’re spraying because you will leave a trail behind you.
Overall, however, I highly recommend this scent. Chloe’s Nomade Eau de Parfum is bold, complex, and modern while remaining soothing and simplistic.
VERSACE Dylan Turquoise EDT
The second scent I had to test was the Versace Dylan Turquoise Eau de Toilette. With its fresh, citrusy, and sensual nature, this perfume is perfect for summertime and warm weather days.
This EDT’s packaging is beautiful as well with a frosted turquoise amphora-shaped bottle that evokes Greek mythology, and Versace Medusa emblems on the front and lid.
As soon as it’s sprayed, you’ll notice the very fine mist before immediately being hit with those more citrusy notes of lemon and mandarin, plus a bit of pink pepper. You’ll get more of the florals as this fragrance develops with the freesia, cassis, jasmine, and a touch of guava.

Once it fully dries down, you’re going to notice the woody base when you get the clearwood, musk, and cedarwood. Clearwood is somewhat patchouli-like and a little bit creamy, so it’s a nice woody base, but overall, this scent is mostly fresh and citrusy with hints of floral.
Versace’s Dylan Turquoise also has a beautiful projection and sillage. People don’t have to be super close to you to smell you, but it’s not overbearing and filling the room, either. When you walk by someone, you’re going to leave a trail of intrigue in your wake.
This scent also has pretty good lasting power with about eight to 12 hours of wear. If it’s really hot and you’re pretty sweaty, you might get closer to six or eight hours, but that’s still great in my book.
It is vibrant, light, beautiful, and doesn’t turn sour or stinky as you sweat. I love how this perfume keeps me feeling fresh all day long, and it’s also one of the most complimented fragrances I wear.
