My Four Favorite Fall Lip Looks

My Four Favorite Fall Lip Looks

Cozy creations to celebrate the season

If you’re like me, you’re starting to wear warmer clothes in yellows, oranges, reds, purples, and browns for the fall. As I’m adjusting my fashion to match the season, I’m also shifting my makeup to cozier colors, deeper hues, and warmer shades. Whether you’re looking for a lip look to match your autumn aesthetic or you just want to try something new, I’ve pulled together some of my favorite formulas for four festive fall looks.

I start with Buxom’s PlumpLine Lip Liner in the shade Undercover. This liner is extremely pigmented and super creamy, so it applies easily and evenly without needing much to make an impact. Undercover is a gorgeous brown hue that flatters any skin tone with its rich, smooth color.

I love this formula because it not only lines the lips to prevent other formulas from feathering, but it’s also pigmented enough to easily be worn by itself. This liner also has a built-in brush that blends out its lip plumping and defining color.

For my second lip look, I used Anastasia Beverly Hills Matte Lipstick in the shade Cool Brown. Along with its smooth, velvet-like application, I love this lipstick because of its ultra-matte finish that doesn’t smear, bleed, or feather. It also works well with Buxom’s lip liner for a fuller, more defined style.

This deep taupe-brown shade completely coats the lips in full-coverage color, and the heart-shaped bullet makes defining and applying easy and precise. Because of its matte finish, I recommend using a lip balm before applying this lipstick for a more comfortable feeling.

For my last two lip looks, I use the Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick. The first fall shade—Maude, a cedar brown—is warmer than the Cool Brown Matte Lipstick but still dries down to a lightweight matte finish. Trust Issues is more of a dusty aubergine shade with a purple base to make the lips pop.

These liquid lipsticks are powerfully pigmented for full coverage color and even fuller-looking lips. They’re long-lasting and can even mix, match, and layer without losing pigmentation or feathering. Like with the matte lipstick, I recommend applying a lip balm before rocking this liquid lip to prevent the color from cracking or flaking due to over-dried skin.
