Yes, Halloween. Believe it or not, the scariest and one of the most enjoyable nights of the year, October 31st, is fast approaching. If you are planning a fun night out, have a costume party to attend, or have little ones at home wanting to go trick-or-treating, now is the time to start planning costumes, and Moon Creations Makeup is the perfect accessory to take your costume to that next level and really get noticed.

Based in the United Kingdom, Moon Creations Makeup was founded in 2012 with a mission to bring fun and innovation to the color cosmetic and party makeup sectors. In the decade since, they have grown to incorporate a vast range of products covering key market trends, including brands of Glow, Glitter, Metallic, and Halloween makeup.

Moon formulates and manufactures all its products in the UK to the highest standards. Each one is rigorously tested and approved by independent evaluators to ensure compliance with 20 key international cosmetic regulations.

The entire Moon Creations line is fragrance, paraben, and SLS- free. None of their products are tested on animals and most of them are also 100% vegan.

Here are some of our favorite Moon Creations to inspire, accessorize, and enhance this year’s Halloween costume.

Professional Face Paint Cake Pots

Moon Creations Professional Face Paints are one of the brand’s most popular products. These quality face paints are easy to apply and gentle on the skin. They are water activated, give excellent coverage, and quickly dry to a powder-like finish that won’t smear or drip.

These paints are perfect for a full-coverage base, or for outlining, defining, and painting fine details. They can be used for painting your face into a variety of classic Halloween characters, such as a vampire, zombie, clown, witch, skeleton, or animal. They are also excellent for creating bold, exaggerated eyes, lips, and cheekbones.

These paint pots are not just for Halloween; you can use them for your next festival or concert to enhance your look by painting on accents like hearts, stars, or butterflies. There are many uses for these vibrant face and body paints; they’re only limited by what your imagination can conceive.

Apply by wetting a sponge (for larger areas) or brush (for smaller, more detailed areas) until the desired consistency is achieved. Apply in layers with a sponge or paint with a brush, then easily wash it away with soap and water.

Terror Face & Body Paint

Terror Face Paint is water-based and ready to use; no need to activate it with water! Create endless spooky and scary characters with this face and body paint in Halloween-themed colors.

This pant is easy to apply with a long-lasting, flake-free formula that stays throughout the night, making it perfect for both novices and professionals alike.

Simply apply with your fingers, a brush, or a sponge to clean, dry skin while avoiding contact with your eyes. Once dry, apply additional layers as needed to increase intensity. This paint also washes off with soap and water.

Pro FX Scar Wax

The Pro FX Scar Wax is a firm, pliable wax that can be molded to create different effects on the skin and to reshape facial features, such as the nose and cheekbones. It is also used for creating wounds and scars on the skin, like lacerations and bullet holes. It is also effective at blocking out eyebrows.

If you need some inspiration for how you can use this wax, check out our previous blog here.

To use, scoop out the amount needed and work with heat from your fingers to soften and shape. Apply to the skin where the effect is needed, and smooth the surface with a little Vaseline to blend while molding into the desired shape.

For a laceration, build up an area of skin slightly (cheek, brow, lip, wrist) then “slice” with a Vaseline-coated thin, blunt edge (butter knife, credit card). For a bullet hole, simply twist a greased, flat end of a pencil into a built-up area and remove it, leaving a circular “wound” behind.

Powder and paint the wax with makeup, face paint, blood, etc. to add depth and realism. To remove, peel off the wax and wash away any residue with soap and water.

Pro FX Scar Wax Crayon

The Moon Terror Pro FX Scar Wax Crayon is the same formula as the above Pro FX Scar Wax, but in a mess-free, easy-to-use crayon that can be applied directly to the skin.

This is perfect for blocking out eyebrows and creating skin wounds, but for reshaping facial features (nose, cheeks, chin), I find it easier to use the pot version of this product. The pot allows you to scoop out and start with more product rather than trying to build volume in multiple layers.

Face & Body Crayons Primary Colours Boxset

These Face & Body Crayons are a fast, easy, and mess-free way to apply color anywhere to the skin. The fine tip allows for perfect precision when creating elaborate and intricate designs, or bold, vibrant outlining. These crayons are ideal for applying skeleton, jack-o-lantern, or animal-face detailed makeup designs.

They glide on smooth with a sweat-proof and water-resistant formula that keeps your design in place for hours. The set includes six crayons; four primary colors (red, blue, yellow, and green), plus black and white for an endless array of color combinations.

To apply, simply twist the end and start drawing anywhere on the face or body. These colors are also easy to remove with makeup wipes.

Face & Body Paint With Brush Primary Boxset

The Face & Body Paint with Brush Applicator Primary Boxset contains six ready-to-use water-based face and body paints. There are four basic primary colors (red, blue, yellow, and green), plus black and white.

Each tube has a built-in brush applicator to easily paint directly onto the skin with no mess. To apply, squeeze the tube until the brush tip fills with paint.

The colors are vibrant and saturated and can be layered for intensity. They also have a long-lasting, flake-free formula that stays put until removed with soap and water. Avoid contact with the eyes.

This tube-and-brush style is also available in the six-color Adventure Boxset.

Terror Face & Body Crayon

This Moon Terror Face & Body Crayon in Midnight Black is perfect for creating scary ghoul, vampire, zombie, and skeleton face makeup, or use it to subtly enhance wrinkles for old-age makeup.

The sharp, pointed tip also makes it a breeze to outline or draw spooky embellishments on the skin like spiders, skulls, or pumpkins. The crayon glides on smooth with a long-wear, sweat, and water-resistant formula.

Simply twist the end to apply and remove with makeup wipes. Getting ready for Halloween has never been quicker or easier!

Pro FX Liquid Latex

Moon Terror Pro FX Liquid Latex is one of the most versatile special effects products: It can be used as an adhesive to bond latex appliances to the skin, to seal and coat over top of FX wax, to create realistic 3D effects like wounds and scars, or to create textured skin effects like aged or peeling skin, as well as rotting flesh.

To create 3D effects, mix the latex with tissue or cotton to build up volume, apply it to the skin, and shape it accordingly. Allow for it to dry and apply paint as needed.

For scars, build up thin layers directly onto the skin with a brush end, powdering between when dry. To realistically age skin, stipple latex onto stretched (pulled taught) skin with a sponge and use a hair dryer to dry it. This will cause the latex to shrink while drying, creating wrinkles in the skin wherever needed.

For peeling skin or rotting zombie flesh, just stipple the latex on with a sponge and allow it to dry. Then, pull, tear, rip, and paint.

Be careful to avoid getting this product into your eyes. To remove, soften the edges with soap and warm water before gently peeling it off. Baby oil can also help with stubborn areas, and applying a moisturizer to the skin as a barrier before using liquid latex also helps make it easier to remove.

Fake Blood

Terror Moon Fake Blood is a thick, opaque, non-toxic, and realistic-looking liquid fake blood. Apply it using a brush or straight from the tube to add realism to cuts, wounds, slashes, scratches, abrasions, and bite marks. Drip it down the skin to simulate active bleeding, or from the corners of a freshly fed vampire mouth.

Create realistic splatter effects by dipping an angle brush in the blood and running your fingers over the wet bristles an inch or two away from the skin you want “splattered.” However you use this versatile product, it’s sure to up the gross-out factor and release your inner “Carrie.” As an added bonus, it removes with soap and water.

Green Slime

Moon Terror Green Slime is a thick, shiny, green, and non-toxic liquid designed to simulate slime or sludge. This slime is the perfect addition to zombie rot or monster makeup.

Drip this slime from your eyes, mouth, or nose, or onto fake wounds for an infected, post-apocalyptic plague effect. You can also coat your face and hair with a thin layer for a creepy just-emerged-from-the-swamp look, or add it to any alien or Martian costumes. Plus, it washes off with soap and water.

With the countdown to Halloween on, I hope the above products help encourage and motivate you to start putting some thought into a costume. I find it so much more enjoyable to celebrate Halloween when you have a great costume to share with others. Good luck, and Happy Halloween!
